Troy Lee Designs have taken key developments and advancements from both their A1 and A2 helmets to make the A3 their best mountain bike trail helmet yet. In the event of a crash, an almost inevitable part of mountain biking when you're pushing your limits, the A3 MIPS Cycle Helmet keeps your head safe in a number of ways. 

Firstly, the EPP and EPS foams are used in combination to deal with crash energy absorption and dissipation. Whether going fast or slow you're head is kept safer. The deep coverage towards the rear of your head is optimised for aggressive mountain biking too. You also benefit from the MIPS technology engineered into the design. 

MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) 

The Mips system is designed to provide added safety for helmets in many accidents. For certain impacts, the Mips system can reduce harmful rotational motion that might otherwise be transferred to the user’s head.

Rotational motion is a common cause of concussions in oblique hits to the head. In a crash, the Mips system is designed to move slightly inside the helmet to help redirect forces away from the head.

Cool. Comfortable. Fresh.

As mentioned above, the A3 borrows tech from TLD's A1 and A2 line of helmets. And this can be found benefitting you in its excellent comfort and cool airflow.  Inside, the X-Static® antimicrobial liner is quick to wick away sweat and it's odour-resistant too - no stinky, itchy head after a fun day on the trails. Carefully engineered front vents and rear exhaust ports channel air through the helmet to optimise the cooling effect of the air rushing in and out.

Getting the perfect fit for a comfortable ride is simple too. The TLD V3 fit system is easy to adjust and the magnetic buckle provides a firm closure every time. The adjustable visor allows easy goggle stowage, and it's designed to break away in a crash, minimising damage and rotational forces on your head. All this comes in at a remarkably low weight of 350 grams.
